Blaine is part of the Anoka-Hennepin School District #11. There are five elementary schools in the area for grades K-5, one middle school for grades 6-8 and two high schools for grades 9-12 which are all located in Blaine. For schools outside of the city, Anoka-Hennepin School District has two kindergarten centers, 28 elementary schools, seven middle schools, five high schools and several different special needs schools for behavioral and emotional needs. Everyone living in Minnesota is well aware of the harsh winters the state endures. The city of Blaine wants to make sure you are safe this winter from freezing pipes and water problems. Make sure your water meter is clear from any large or small obstacles. Your water meter should be located in a place that is near a heated environment and is recommended to stay there until the end of March. If you're moving to Blaine to further your career by opening up a new business or branching out, you'll need to know the where to go for licensing and other pertinent information. The City of Blaine has made this very easy for you. Simply fill out a form at the County Clerk's Office. You can call them at (763) 785-6122 or (763) 785-6124. Businesses that require a certain permit include Amusement Centers, Carnivals, Kennels, Off-Sale Liquor, One-Sale Beer, Pawnbrokers, Tobacco and Non-Profit gambling organization. Applications are processed within 30 days and are subject to review and approval by the City Council.

The most exciting thing Blaine has to offer its seniors is the Mary Ann Young Senior Center located off of Cloverleaf Parkway and Highway 65. There are a variety of programs offered and social events offered, with a full calendar of events planned out for the year including Line Dancing, Wii Bowling, movies and financial advice!
